Cincinnati Dayton Shared Use Path

Liberty Township and the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) are working together to construct an approximately 1/2-mile long shared use path on the west side of Cincinnati-Dayton Road between Hamilton-Mason Road and Yankee Road in Liberty Township, Butler County, Ohio. The project will include curb ramps and crosswalks across State Route (SR) 129 ramp intersections that are compliant with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. The project is located within a predominantly developed, urban corridor. The project proposes significant safety improvements for pedestrians and cyclists by separating them from vehicle traffic and providing safer intersection crossings.

No road closures or detours are anticipated to be needed; however, one southbound lane of traffic on Cincinnati-Dayton Road may be closed during working hours for construction of the shared use path. Access to adjacent properties will be maintained at all times during construction. Construction began July 2023. All associated work is expected to be completed in late summer of 2024.

R. B. Jergens Contractors, Inc. was awarded a contract for approximately $1.22 million to complete the project.
