Liberty Township operates as a Limited Home Rule form of government, which is led by a Board of Trustees and Fiscal Officer who each serve a four-year term, and provide professional management through the appointment of a Township Administrator.
Responsibilities
Kristen L. Bitonte was appointed to the position of Township Administrator by the Board of Trustees on November 6, 2012. Ms. Bitonte serves as the chief administrative officer comparable to a city manager in a non-partisan role, and manages the daily operations of the township. Responsibilities include:
Providing leadership and overseeing six departments (Administration, Services / Parks, Fire / EMS, Police, Planning and Zoning and Economic Development) comprised of 100+ staff
Working with the three elected Trustees and the Fiscal Officer to develop policies
Formalize and manage the budget
Ensure quality service to more than 40,000 residents and approximately 425 businesses in Liberty Township
Ms. Bitonte is passionate about working with the Township’s elected officials, the Liberty Township team, the various community partners and the Township’s residents and businesses to build consensus with stakeholders to achieve community goals and bring to fruition the exciting projects planned for the community.
