LIBERTY INTERCHANGE
The Liberty Interchange is the extension of the Michael A. Fox Highway (SR129) from its terminus at Interstate 75 eastward. The project also involves extending Cox Road from Hamilton Mason Road northward. The Liberty Interchange will provide better access to the area and open up additional land for commercial development. The construction will occur in three phases:
Phase A: Cox Road Extension
Phase B: Improvements to Hamilton-Mason Road
Phase C: New Interchange
The first two phases are expected to begin in late 2007 with the interstate work expected to begin in early 2008.
The Butler County Transportation Improvement District (TID) has completed the financing of the Liberty Interchange with the closing on the highway improvement bonds in February 2007. The TID’s engineering firm is finalizing the construction drawings for the project. The Hamilton-Mason Road plans are final from Cox Road to Butler-Warren Road and the TID is in the process of preparing to bid the project. Visit the Butler County Transporation Improvement District web site for additional information on the Liberty Interchange.
