The Liberty Township Fire Department and Life-Saving Squad is committed to preserving the safety and well-being of our citizens. We believe that one of the best ways to do this is to educate the community in basic life-saving techniques that include basic first aid, CPR, AED usage and the Heimlich Maneuver. For this reason, we have coordinated and held many classes that teach and reinforce the above skills in the hope that it could very well save lives. One of the keys to survival of any trauma or medical emergency is rapid access to first aid and/or CPR when needed. We look at these classes as a way to close the gap from the occurrence of an emergency and the time when care begins.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS: Liberty Township holds three different types of CPR and/or First Aid classes. These classes are modeled for certain needs, whether it be for the good samaritan or the health care professional. Below are explanations of the three classes to help you choose the one that suits you.
Heartsaver AED	This class is held the first Monday of each month and is designed for any person who wants to obtain a certification in CPR. It will be interactive with a proctor and manikins while following along with a video.
Healthcare Provider Class	This class is held the second Monday of every month and is designed for any person in the healthcare industry: MD, RN, Dental Asst., EMS Professional, etc. It will be interactive with a proctor and manikins while following along with a video.
Heartsaver First Aid and CPR Class	This class is held the third Monday of every month and is designed for any person who wants to obtain a certification in CPR and basic First Aid. It is the same as Heartsaver AED except with an additional video and practice in First Aid skills. This class is interactive with a proctor and manikins along with a video.

***NOTES: ALL START TIMES FOR CLASS ARE PROMPT. HOWEVER, END TIMES CAN CHANGE WITH ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS/ PRACTICE AS NEEDED.

COST:	Classes are only $10 for residents of Liberty Township and $25 for Non-Liberty Township residents. We accept the following forms of payment: cash, check, or money order. Books can be purchased for class for additional $15. However, you can come pick up a book and borrow it before and during class for FREE.
CLASS SIZE:	There is a maximum number of 9 students each class and at least one student must be registered one week prior to class or class will be canceled. So sign up early and bring a friend.
DRESS CODE:	Dress is casual and comfortable.
LUNCH/ BREAKS:	Most classes are “worked through”, meaning we snack through class to minimize breaks for shorter class time.
