Backpacking Know How* In this hands-on class, gain confidence for backpacking. From camp stove cooking to basic wilderness first aid, learn the skills needed for your first backpacking adventure. Be prepared to take a hike as part of the class. Dress appropriately. *This class is a pre-requisite for Beginning Backpacking Adventure. Cost: $5 per person
Beginner Backpacking Overnight Expedition at Caesar Creek State Park Put your backpacking skills to the test by traversing the 12-mile loop at Caeser Creek State Park. Pack a lunch to eat before hitting the trail promptly at noon. Dinner and breakfast will be provided. Participants must supply their own tent, backpack, sleeping bag, eating utensils, and bowl. *MetroParks' "Backpacking Know How" in March is a pre-requisite. Cost: $30 per person

Ages: 3-5 years and their adult companions Time: 10:30-11:30 a.m. or 1:00-2:00 p.m. Cost: $2 per child per activity fee Pre-registration required by the day before the program date at www.yourmetroparks.net.
Walking in the natural world is good for your body, mind, and spirit! Join a MetroParks Outdoor Educator and other walkers each month to explore a different park area. These hikes are open to all ages and last approximately 1 hour. No reservations required.
