Accomplishments

2010 Audit - No financial findings and only one procedural recommendation that was implemented at the beginning of 2011.

Helped welcome 24 new business, including Walgreens, Hodapp Funeral Home, Dr. Prather's Medical Office, and Tide Dry Cleaning.

Conducted research and investigation into Internet Sweepstakes Cafes and adopted zoning regulations to prohibit.  Such regulations have become the model and leader on the topic throughout the State of Ohio.

Acquired title of State of Ohio Co-Champion for the tallest Hackberry tree on Dudley property.

Promoted three (3) Firefighter / Paramedics to Lieutenants.

Dudley Park Upgrade installed new handicapped accessible restroom facility utilizing $30,000 Nature Works grant, paved parking lot and driveway, and installed aerator in pond.

Used Interest Based Bargaining to negotiate expiring IAFF contract.

Park Improvements – Constructed a fourteen foot gazebo at Reserves Park; replaced shelter roof, and installed new park sign at Liberty Park.

Won appeals case at the 12th District Court of Appeals based on vesting issue with fireworks facility.

Public Safety – Sheriff deputies, detectives, and officers handled 13,183 calls while Fire Department personnel handled 1,965 calls.

Road Maintenance – paved or black matted almost 3.0 miles of roadways, retraced 3.5 miles, crack sealed 2.2 miles, and replaced 150 feet of curb.

Installed waterline for irrigation system along Liberty Way / Hamilton Mason Road.

Steiner + Associates received approval for an extension to its 2008 PUD plan.

Carriage Hill / Winding Creek development (approximately 400 acres) received approval for revisions to overall Land Development Plan.

Hired six (6) part time Firefighter / EMT-Basics or Paramedics to assist scheduling and reduce overtime.

Lt. Jason Knollman, Firefighter / Paramedic Chad Canupp, Capt. Jim Limerick and BCSO Lt. Lance Bunnell were deployed through various emergency service agencies to east coast to provide hurricane and flooding assistance.

Collaborated with Butler County Engineer's Office and Planning Department on revisions to the Butler County Subdivision Regulations.

Acquired final Cherokee Park parcel from developer.

Completed 5,400 hours of Fire and EMS training while three (3) Firefighter / Paramedics became Fire Instructors and two (2) became Fire Safety Inspectors.

Repaved and crack sealed Springhill Cemetery.

Significantly assisted Butler County in completing the TIF district parcel exemption process for the County’s TIF that exists inside the Township.

Facilitated and participated in collaborative pricing with ten (10) other Butler County Fire Departments for purchase of minitors.

Collaborated with Hills Land & Development Co. and First Financial Bank to complete all required open space improvements in Harbour Towne Park subdivision.

Participated in various local emergency-related drills – e.g., FEMA 72 hour multi-state earthquake, Local Emergency Planning Commission (LEPC) full scale exercise, and Children's Hospital simulations.

Implemented structured promotional testing process in Services Department and promoted five (5) Service Worker 1 to Service Worker 2 upon successful completion of the process.

Initiated Township’s First Annual Breakfast with Santa event that produced over $275 for Children’s Hospital and $817 for parks development.

Hired two (2) Service Worker 1 replacement positions in the Services Department.

Replaced roof on old Fire Station #1 for adequate storage capabilities.

Approved a revised RV / Semi-Trailer resolution to assist with safety and visibility in residential subdivisions.

Received a donation from Atrium Medical of five (5) modems for use with the Township’s cardiac monitors (cost of over $2,500).
